I’m Katie Hart and I’m the owner of Hart Photography and co-owner of Palmetto Duo!  I’ve had my business for 13 years and I’m excited to announce a merge of my two photographic adventures to include my single photographer packages and two photographer options within Palmetto Duo!  So you’ll find the same great packages and services as Hart Photography has always offered, but under a new name!

A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS,
BUT THE MEMORIES ARE PRICELESS.

Palmetto Duo started as a collaboration between two professional photographers, Katie Hart & Dave Gilbert, to bring the most complete wedding day coverage to our brides.

While we both photograph weddings alone, we have realized by pairing our two styles and photographic visions we’re able to paint a more complete, even more beautiful story of your wedding day through working together as a team.

Whether using our two photographer or single photographer options, our goal is to tell the story of your unique wedding day and help you hold onto those memories forever.

Cara & Ben – The Hall at Senate’s End, Columbia SC Wedding

Cara & Ben were married at The Hall at Senate’s End.  The new walkway to the garden looked amazing!  Here’s a few things Cara had to say about her wedding day- I think the only thing (about the wedding) we didn’t like was the heat – ended up being the hottest day in September! I think the funniest thing about the wedding itself was that (during the ceremony), I didn’t know anyone was there. It was as if I had horse blinders on because all I saw was Benjamin. Since it was a warm evening, the porch of the Hall was a popular hangout and they brought a couch over for some extra seating.  We borrowed the couch for a few romantic photos of the couple before they danced the rest of the night away! Congratulations on a beautiful wedding day Cara & Ben! Iceman Challenge- Personal Photo Project

Ever since I moved to Columbia from North Carolina in 1999, I’ve been enamored by the Saluda River.  Running through the heart of Columbia, the Saluda River brings beauty and recreation to our great city!  My husband and I have been fishing, kayaking, tubing and rock hopping along the river for years.  I’ve always heard about a race where they raise the water and kayak down the Mill Race rapids near the zoo but I’ve never been able to catch it…until this year.  I don’t have anywhere near the skill needed to navigate these class 4 rapids but I had a blast taking photos of it!   Enjoy a few of the highlights of the Iceman Challenge & Millrace Massacre races below.  Now, if only I can turn this new hobby into an adventure engagement... read more

Melanie & Brandon- Adam’s Pond, Columbia SC Wedding

Melanie & Brandon were married at the Millstone at Adam’s Pond.  We had a great bridal party for this wedding!  They were full of energy and ready to try anything.  We had a little fun putting the ladies on the balcony before the ceremony and the guys below. It’s a great way to get photos of the bride and groom together beforehand without them seeing each other!  The vibrant pink flowers by American Floral added even more pop and brilliance to this colorful wedding!
